Can we be friends before you call me your wedding photographer? Sure, I could tell you all the reasons I’m great at what I do, but what really matters to me is being more than just another vendor on your wedding checklist.
Unlike a lot of photographers, I didn’t grow up with a camera in hand. I actually studied Psychology, which is where I learned my business motto: people first!
My goal isn’t just to give you beautiful photos; it’s to create a joyful experience and a real connection. I tear up right alongside my couples (and their sweet moms) during their ceremony vows because this job is personal to me.
God has blessed me with the gift of capturing love stories, and I can’t wait to be part of yours as your photographer, new friend, and biggest cheerleader in marriage.
I was born and raised in the heart of Los Angeles, and after marrying my junior high sweetheart, David, we moved across the country! Along the way, I traveled around the U.S. documenting love stories for couples and families.
My love for photography began during David’s combat deployments. We relied on handwritten letters (just like in junior high) and, of course, photographs. That season sparked my passion for capturing love and irreplaceable moments.
Since then, I’ve photographed weddings in nine states, including Alaska—where we fell in love with the Kenai Peninsula and named our first dog, Kenai. No matter where life takes us, Southern California will always be home.
David and I on our wedding day exchanging handwritten letters
David and I have spent our entire relationship writing handwritten letters to each other. We keep our wedding day letters to one another in our bedroom as a sweet and intimate reminder of our first day of Marriage.

I love traveling and finding new spots to call “Home Away From Home”. Photographing at least 1 wedding in each state would be a dream come true! California, Alaska, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and West Virginia have all been checked off the list!

It could be 8 degrees on a North Carolina morning (true story) or 90 degrees on a summer day in California and iced coffee will always be my go to.

I like to tune into my inner Joanna Gaines as we start to make our new house feel like a home. I still can’t believe I made those curtain rods myself!

Nataly Hernandez Photography was MFD Photography, short for Memories For Dave Photography the first 7 years. MFD Photography was born from creating memories for David while he was overseas during his 3 combat deployments.
David was gone during some big life moments and I didnt want him to ever feel like he was missing one second of it. “Memories For Dave” was a folder that sat on my desktop that I filled almost daily with photographs I needed to email him or print to include in his next care package. Photographs can bring us joy, strength, courage, and remind us of how loved we are and I wanted to make sure David felt all of those during his deployments.
