I met Mia back in 2011 when we both worked for Vanguard University. At the time we were both involved in the start of a new veteran program. Mia since then has worked for other schools and is now working as a Social Worker with military families. Mia has such a loving heart and infectious smile. It makes me so happy to see her with someone who brings out those qualities even more so. Their Crystal Cove Beach Engagement session was a highlight for me this month! Then again, Engagement beach photos are always SO dreamy. At least it is for any So Cal Engagement photographer 😉
We decided to have their engagement session near a beach because of their sweet engagement story.
Dustin told me how he had a perfect proposal planned but when it came down to the moment he was going to pop the question the wind picked up it made the sand pick up as well. If you have ever been at the beach on a windy day then you know that sand flying around is not comfortable at all. As a Crystal Cove Beach Engagement photographer, I can defintely attest to this. It can actually hurt a little bit too depending on how fast the winds are going. Well, crazy winds and flying sand didn’t stop their perfect night. Dustin proposed and Mia of course happily said yes. Ironically, the day of their engagement session it was another very windy day at the beach!
This engagement session was different than most. It was an over casted day and the sun was peaking through for only a few minutes at a time. When you’re at the beach these changes in the sky drastically change the colors at the beach so it was really fun to have those blue and magenta tones one minute and then those deep golden tones seconds later.
Mia and Dustin are getting married later this summer and I’m so excited to be able to capture their sweet day in August! Thank you SO much guys for choosing me to photograph your Crystal Cove Beach Engagement.
XO,
Nataly
