Janice and Ehsun’s multicultural wedding weekend was the kind of celebration that stays with you long after the last hug goodbye. It was emotional, intentional, beautifully layered, and such an honor to photograph. Over two days, their families honored traditions from both Persian and Chinese heritage, weaving together something uniquely their own.
We began in Beverly Hills for their civil ceremony. We grabbed some classic bride and groom portraits in the area and were so thankful to have avoided all the recent rain! Right after, we joined Ehsun’s family for a Sofreh ceremony. His parents poured so much love into every detail, and the room felt warm, proud, and full of meaning. It was the perfect way to begin a weekend centered around family, tradition, and unity.
The next morning, we were welcomed into Janice’s parents’ home for an ancestral ceremony. It was an intimate, heartfelt, and rooted in generations of tradition. Every gesture held significance, every moment was intentional. You could feel the weight of history in the room and the joy of something new beginning.
Afterward, Janice and Ehsun held a tea ceremony with their closest friends and family. Laughter mixed with happy tears, parents beamed with pride, and there were so many little moments of tenderness between them all. It was beautiful to witness two cultures coming together with such genuine love and respect.
Janice and Ehsun’s weekend was more than a wedding. It was a merging of families, traditions, and hearts. A celebration that honored where they come from and all they’re building together.
XO!
