Mayra and Javier’s downtown Riverside engagement session was a long time coming! Mayra and Javier booked me for their wedding day almost two years ago. It seems like such a long time ago now and yet we just met in person for the first time. Mayra and I initially connected over the love for our dogs. They have two shepherds, and so did we. As anyone with a German Shepherd can tell you… it’s a life you can only understand when you live it!
The last two years have felt like I already knew Mayra and Javier! Finally having them in front of my camera for their engagement session was so fun. Initially, their session was supposed to happen a bit earlier, but the weather pushed it back. While we didn’t have clear skies on the day we decided to move forward on their engagement session, we still had great weather, and it wasn’t raining at all! Not that shooting in the rain isn’t fun, but there’s a time and place for it 😉
Javier and Mayra purchased their first home together in Riverside County, so we decided to stay local to their new home as a nod to this new phase of their life. We started their Downtown Riverside Engagement at the historic Citrus State Park, which is open to the public Monday through Saturday. We ended our time together outside the Mission Inn in Downtown Riverside. Downtown Riverside is historic and is so pretty for any type of session and even if not for photos, I encourage you to visit The Mission Inn in downtown Riverside. It’s beautiful!
