Los Angeles Engagement Session | Jennifer + Eric

Sometimes the best engagement sessions are the ones that don’t go according to plan.

Jennifer and Eric’s session was originally set to take place at the Griffith Observatory. One of Los Angeles’ most iconic locations! But as soon as I arrived, it was clear we needed a new plan. While the Observatory is usually bustling with visitors, this was on another level. The day before one of the FIFA World Cup matches, Los Angeles was overflowing with tourists, making it nearly impossible to photograph there without massive crowds in every direction.

Rather than trying to force it, we decided to pivot.

Instead, Jennifer and Eric took me to one of their favorite places. A spot where they often spend time walking with their sweet pup, Amy. It ended up being the perfect choice.

Of course, Amy stole a few moments in front of the camera, too. She happily joined us for part of the session, adding even more personality and making the photos feel like a true reflection of Jennifer and Eric’s life together. I always love when couples include their dogs in their engagement session!

Jennifer and Eric, thank you for trusting the process and being so willing to embrace Plan B. I loved spending the evening with you both (and Amy!), and I cannot wait to photograph your wedding day!

One of the biggest takeaways from Jennifer and Eric’s Los Angeles engagement session is that the perfect engagement photos aren’t about having the “perfect” location. They’re about documenting what feels true to you. Whether it’s your favorite neighborhood, a trail you walk every weekend with your dog, or a place that holds special memories, those meaningful locations often create the most authentic images. If you’re planning your engagement session and aren’t sure where to start, I’d love to help you choose a location that reflects your story and create an experience that’s relaxed, fun, and uniquely yours.
